Contributor Introduction: Sam

Hiya. I’m Sam. Right now I live in the sheep country in North Yorkshire, UK, where I try to do normal things while corralling a three-year-old and a ten-month-old to a constant soundtrack of They Might Be Giants’s Here Come the ABCs, Here Come the 123s, and Here Comes Science. (Seriously, the greatest things ever. The boy, when asked what the sun is, says “a miasma of incandescent plasma.”)

So, in other words, time to myself (to include reading, my obsessive knitting and showering) is precious. However, I will make sacrifices to share this time with Arthur, Ford and the crew.

I honestly don’t remember the first time I read the series, the world’s only five-book trilogy. I worked at a bookstore for a time where we all shared similar tastes in books, namely Hitchhiker’s Guide, Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett, and Laurel K. Hamilton (admittedly, never read hers). I bought all the books then (borrowing more than three times from a library justifies a purchase, no?), read them in order, packed up, moved, got married, moved again, met Jake, had a baby, met Gavin, “worked,” met Matt, had a baby, moved again (much further than ever before!) and here we are. Confused? Sometimes I am, too. Don’t worry.

I may not have the greatest writing style, I’m not the most humourous of authors and my contributions may very well be the third-worst on this site, but I’m no Vogon. *crickets* No? Fine. See you for the first 50!
